What is DonorWise? What are the Benifits?

DonorWise is an easy to use donation tracking application designed for use by Campus Crusade for Christ for use by national ministries. It provides an effective way to keep track of donations intended for staff and ministry projects. Some of its benefits include:

Enhanced communication with donors.

Communication with donors will be easier, since DonorWise contains the contact information for each person who has donated to the ministry. Besides information on current donors, it is possible to have contact information on potential investors and other interest groups in DonorWise, which will make connecting with the ministry's entire contact base smooth and simple.

Ministry credibility: Integrity with donors

Donors will receive immediate recognition for their gifts, including amount, date and purpose. Thus the ministry's credibility with donors will increase, paving the way for increased local funding.

Informed leadership and staff

The leadership and staff will have accurate, fast and clear information on their donations, donors and contact addresses. The ministry leadership will be able to determine where their donors are, how often they give, how much they give, and what they give for. The staff will know who gives to them, how much and when.

Accuracy of information

The strong built-in controls within DonorWise give assurance that the ministry’s information on funds received — including source, purpose, amount and date — is accurate and reliable.

Protection of ministry assets

DonorWise allows the ministry to protect its assets by ensuring that donations are processed promptly and accurately and that the donation information agrees with the accounting information.

Growth in local donations — growth in ministry

DonorWise will enable the ministry to process donations faster and more accurately, thus allowing for more funding to be processed. Enhanced communication and increased credibility with donors will attract more people to give to the ministry, resulting in more local funds given to the ministry. Increased local funding builds a healthy foundation for the ministry.

Integration for Added Power

DonorWise is designed to integrate with a number of other programs, as detailed below. And the modular design of DonorWise will allow software developers to build plug-ins for integration with even more programs.

The database engine used by DonorWise can be either MS SQL Server, which might already be in use in your office; or the freely distributed MS SQL Server Express.

 

Easy Donation Entry

  • Donors can be easily searched by name or address within the donation entry screen.
  • Donations that are unclear can be entered but flagged for further investigation.
  • Corrections can easily be made to donations already entered.

Powerful Contact Management

  • Detailed contact information can be saved for donors and other contacts.
  • Searching for contacts based on hundreds of possible criteria is easily accomplished.
  • Custom mailing lists can be easily be created and used in reports.

Customizable Reports

  • Using Crystal Reports, built-in reports can be customized, and new ones can be designed.
  • The receipt layout can be customized just like any other report.
  • Reports can easily be based on hundreds of possible criteria.

Integration With the General Ledger

  • Automatically created journals can easily be entered into the general ledger.
  • Journals can be submitted automatically into Solomon IV 4.2 and newer.
  • Donation assessment entries are automatically generated based on predefined criteria.

Exchange Data with TntMPD

  • Generate donation reports that can be imported by staff who use TntMPD.
  • Allow staff who receive donations directly from partners to upload that data from TntMPD to DonorWise. (This feature is planned for the future and is not currently available.)

Strong Security and Internal Controls

  • Multiple users may use the system at once, and it's easy to define what each user is allowed to see and do inside the program.
  • Receipting can be made required at pre-defined time intervals to ensure accountability.
  • Previously posted donation data can not be altered, and any corrections made will serve as an audit trail.

Fully Internationalized

  • The entire user interface is fully translatable into any language.
  • Addresses and names of donors are formatted according to their country.
  • Multiple currencies are supported.
  • Data can be entered in any language. (Unicode support requires Windows NT/2000/XP/2003.)
